An evening with rock legend ANDY SUMMERS
|oktober 9, 2022|
Andy Summers, guitarist of The Police, composer, photographer and author presents a multi-media solo evening with music from his solo albums and The Police accompanying a photographic journey through time and space.
Through the lens of his beloved Leica, we experience unique views from New York to Spain, Brazil to The Police touring in the 1980s.
With his guitars and loops Andy creates soundscapes featuring some of his most famous recordings such as Metal Dog, Round Midnight, Triboluminescence or Police hits such as Roxanne or Message in a Bottle – and of course pieces form his latest album Harmonics of the Night.
During the evenings Andy always chats with his audience and who knows where the banter will lead. This is a chance to meet the Rock Legend live and up-close in an intimate setting.
Andy Summers says: “This show is a multimedia performance where I play guitar to several orchestrated sequences of photography that I have shot all over the world, from Africa to India, Japan to China, and of course the USA. The music that I play is cutting-edge guitar music, also Jazz, Bossa Nova, Ballads, and ends with a stunning climax in a very special rendition of one of the great Police hits.”
“I have been practicing photography all my life, and of course the guitar. And I am very happy to pull it all together in one performance. I am having great fun with this, and I hope to see you!“
